Description
This book began many years ago as twenty-six hand written pages. It is an allegory
The characters and locations depict certain Biblical places and entities. Heaven is the City of Gold and the King depicts God; Shepherd represents Jesus Christ, and the sheep are Christians. Faithful, Beloved, and Courage are protectors of the sheep, appointed by the King. They can be likened to pastors and apostles, warriors of the faith. Faithful is patterned after a German Shepherd, a stolid, no-nonsense leader; Beloved is given the characteristics of a Samoyed, white and fluffy with a sunny character, whose desires lead to temptation. Courage is a goat.
Pride is a composite of Judas Iscariot and those who have betrayed their brethren through the centuries. He and Beloved also portray those who have recanted and sought to make amends for their sins, no matter the cost.
Hellion, the Dark Prince personifies Satan; Deception, a.k.a., Pleasure is the leader of the wolves and wild dogs (demons) who gather on the High Place, a monolithic dome shaped like the top of a skull where moon worship represents the world’s darkness. The chasm in the Caverns of Death are emblematic of the pit where Satan, hell and death will be cast as described in the Book of the Revelation.
It is an impossibility to outline Christianity from the beginning, depicting all the circumstances behind its progress and destiny within the confines of this book. Therefore, I have chosen to depict the foundation of the church as the journey to the Meadow of Hope. The Meadow of Hope is where believers live, and the Sanctuary of Promise is the place of deliverance where the Comforter awaits to bring them safety and rest. It is a place of spiritual peace.
Tradition has a dual identity, portraying Jerusalem in one sense, and the faiths that faltered and tried to arrange the world to align with their desires.
The disasters portrayed are meant to encompass all the trials, horrors and tragedies visited on Christianity and the world, from the foundation of the church.
